What is the best and most interesting portrayal of Vampires?

Night World-LJ Smith is a VERY good series, LJ Smith has a vast collection of vampire series including The Vampire Diaries, and Night World and so on...I was going to say Anne Rice's the Vampire Chronicles, because in my opinion that truly IS the all time BEST vampire portrayal and storyline, but you've already read it lol
