Spirit airlines- separate mom and child?

I am booked for a flight with Spirit airlines in a few weeks with my husband and sons (ages 1 and 2). We chose not to pay extra to choose a seat as we really don't care if we all sit together (Baby will sit on husbands lap) But now I'm re thinking because I am worried that Spirit will separate my 2 year old son from me. I'm really trying to be budget-friendly on this trip and think it's ridiculous to have to pay a fee to ensure I sit next to my toddler who has his own seat. I don't care what row or seat I am in, I just want my 2 year old to sit next to me. Does anyone know Spirit's policy on this? I'd hate to have to pay for something so petty but I will if there's a possibility of us being seated apart. Thanks!
